| Effective control and prevention of disease outbreaks depend on early detection, rapid on-site investigation and timely intervention of unexpected health problems. Field epidemiology involves the application of epidemiologic methods for distinct approach, tasks, and actions needed for successful field investigations. | |||||||

A Certificate on Field Epidemiology Techniques will be offered by the School of Public Health, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, if the participant fulfills the course requirements. The course content is equivalent to 2 course units (26 contact hours) and the credit gained could be transferred to MSc in Applied Epidemiology, provided that the participants meet the requirements set by the Graduate School and they have successfully completed the certificate course. |

Assessment | |||||||
| Assessment will be in the form of attendance, exercises and written examination. Participants who fulfill the assessment requirements will obtain the Certificate on Field Epidemiology Techniques. The requirements include (a) over 80% attendance and (b) pass the exercises and the examination. | |||||||

| Applications should have a graduate qualification in a health-related discipline from a recognized university and obtained a Bachelor's degree, and preferably have at least two years working experience in a health-related setting. | |||||||
