Biography

Dr. Lee is a specialist in infectious diseases. He joined CUHK as an associate professor in 2005. He is currently the Head of Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics at the Prince of Wales Hospital. His division provides clinical services, coordinates the utilization of isolation facilities, and participates in the hospital’s antibiotics stewardship program, infection control activities and outbreak management. He also serves in various local advisory boards, editorial boards, and councils of professional organizations.

Dr Lee has published over 80 research articles and book chapters. He has received Distinguished Research Paper Award for Young Investigators from the Hong Kong College of Physicians in 2003 and 2008, and the degree of Doctor of Medicine (CUHK) in 2007. His thesis was titled “SARS—from diagnosis to clinical management.”

Research Interests
  • Emerging and re-emerging infections, particularly those with high potential to cause human outbreaks.
  • Emphasis on their clinical diagnosis, management and infection control related issues.
  • Examples include: SARS, influenza and other respiratory viral/bacterial infections, viral gastrointestinal infections (norovirus), antimicrobial resistance, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS.
